Biography

Creative Practitioner

Bekki is a huge advocate of creativity and it's benefits on mental health and well-being. At the beginning of 2021, Bekki set the intention "to create and be creative". She endeavoured to produce 12 creative projects that year, 1 for each month. Along the way, Bekki developed new skills in photography, clay modelling, painting (acrylic and water colours), sewing, writing (song, poems and monologues) and digital performing art. Performing Artist

Bekki's interests lie within the performing body and bodily-based devising. Her performance work lies at the intersection of theatre, dance, and visual arts - seeking to push the boundaries of performance through interdisciplinary approaches. She is an eager collaborator, and has worked with artist and musicians in most of her live performances. Due to the current circumstance, Bekki has been exploring a digital performance platform here on this website (Online Exhibitions) and over on instagram (bekki_loveridge). 

Producer

Bekki has recently been able to use the skills and experience she developed at university in producing live events for Diamondz School of Dance. She is currently producing their 2022 annual dance showcase and set to produce a Variety show for Diamondz and The Rock School of Bus in 2023. In the last six month, Bekki has built a fantastic connection with multiple local companies and freelancers.

Freelance Dance and Drama Teacher/Facilitator

As a freelance teacher, Bekki has extensive knowledge in and experience of both dance and drama. She is currently working with Diamondz School of Dance in Spalding, teaching 5-8yrs mixed dance and 9-12 contemporary dance. She also teaches drama for holiday clubs.

Bekki has previously worked for Starlight Theatre Academy (Newark) as their head of dance and The University of Lincoln as a workshop facilitator of movement technique for the School of Fine & Performing Arts Level 1 Drama & Theatre students. Additionally, Bekki is able in facilitating workshops that focus on training the performing body, bodily-based performance making, and performance art.

Yoga Instructor

Bekki's love for yoga is rooted in it's ability to transcend the mind and spirit through working with the body. Bekki completed her 200yr yoga teacher training in August 2021and began teaching in-person classes in September at Smudge Fitness in Spalding. She also teaches online live yoga classes for her business Adults Move Lincolnshire.

Adults Move Lincolnshire

Bekki started teaching adult dance classes online in January 2021, using her experience and skills she had developed from her time as a voluntary dance teacher for her university's dance society. In April, she created Adults Move Lincolnshire in preparation for her in-person dance classes starting up in Spalding in May. She teacher dance, yoga and movement for well-being for her business and colloborate with local dance teachers and business to encourage more adults to dance and come together for their mental and physical well-being.
